CLUBBING, BAR HOPPING & NIGHTLIFE @ AU

If your looking to party at Adelphi you have some options. You can join a frat or sorority and go to house parties or you can....

If your 18-21 and your into the bar scene you can go to nachos or dizzy lizards bar which are down by hofstra university on hemstead tpyke. They get pretty packed and its only 18 years old to get in. The crowd is good on Wednesdays-Saturday. Its a little young and roudy, and they play mainly rap and pop songs. 10 dollar covers to get in by the way.

If your into the bar scene but your into the older crowd you can go to Bar Social which is up the block from hofstra university but if your willing to take a little hike there are many good bars in long beach and rockville centre. In rockville center you have kaseys and blackthorns which are well known spots. In long beach they have a very big strip of bars right by the beach in the west end of town on beech st. Check out minnesotas, the beach house and the inn; they get the best crowds. these places are usually 5 dollar covers or free.

If your into bigger clubs you can go to GLO night club on thursdays or saturdays. Its on merrick avenue which is like 5 minutes east of hofstra on hemsptead tpyke, just make a left on merrick ave and go down 2 minutes and it will be on ur left once you pass hoolihans restuarant. GLO is more of an upscale place which has famous people performing every week. They have very good djs and house music, they also play the typical rap, pop and reggae songs. Its a 50/50 split. 10 dollar cover.

If your just into a hiphop club without house music you can go to savannahs which is on hempstead tpyke 7 miles east of hofstra university. its located in a big plaza where roslyn bank is. Savannahs is gets packed on fridays and its also alright on saturday. 10 dollar cover usually

EASY A's & CLASS SCHEDULES

The best way to get the easiest classes is to sign up for as many classes as you possibly can at first. I think the max amount you can sign up for is 18 credits which equals to 6 classes. Make sure you sign up for classes that go along with your major requirments. You can check this by going on degreeworks from ecampus located on adelphi.edu or you can ask your advisor in your major's department on campus. Every student gets an advisor within their department to help them out with their classes and keeping them on track to graduate on time. Back to the topic....so once you sign up for 18 credits you have to attend the first day of all the classes and get the syllabus from the teachers. You should sit through the first day of class and get a vibe for the teacher and how they will grade and run the class. After looking at and analyzing all the teachers and their syllabus you can drop the 2 classes that seem the hardest and that will leave you left with 12 credits (4 classes) At colleges you always have like a 2-3 week period when you can add or drop classes. So within that time you can actually check more than 6 classes, you can do it as much as you want. Good Luck getting easy A's.

PS: try to schedule your classes monday-thursday because Thursday night are big party nights around here so your going to want to sleep in on friday mornings. If anything make your friday class as late as possible.

LOCK IT UP

Welcome back everyone, hope everyone had a good summer. We have new freshman coming in so help them out. Try to make it to your classes even if its the first week and try to talk to your teachers early. Making friends with the professor early is the best way to lock up a B atleast. Keep a friendly vibe with professors all the way through with little chate before or after class and you'll defiantly get at least B if you just show up to 80%-90% of the classes. So get a head start early on, the faster they can start remembering your name the better. Also an easy way to help your grade this semester is to talk once in every class. Even if you dont know the answer to the teachers questions just ask any question you want, try to keep it related to the class or topic of the day. Asking questions is just as good as answering the teachers questions and it will count the same towards your grade, it might even look better because the teacher will think your interested in the topic. Good luck this semester.
